Sarah's* Story
My husband Doug* and I both had college degrees, full-time jobs and resources to provide for ourselves and our son Luke*. Doug lost his job as an aerospace engineer and our life changed. Our savings eventually ran out and we had to choose between paying for utilities or rent and eventually could not even provide a gallon of milk for Luke. Our endless search for jobs left us unsuccessful and hopeless. I couldn’t find a job anywhere, it was so depressing.

A friend told me about Orange County United Way; their programs helped my family re-gain our independence and re-build a self-sufficient life. Orange County United Way helped us with so much more than just money and food, they gave us back our hope; they gave us back us.
